Efficient and persistent.

Hello! My name is Manuel Lopez, and I'm a passionate and motivated developer eager to make an impact in the tech industry. I recently graduated from Durham College and am currently working as a dishwasher while I focus on advancing my career in development. My journey into programming started with a fascination for how things work at a fundamental level, which led me to explore both front-end and back-end development. One of my proudest accomplishments is creating a detailed 8085 microprocessor simulator, which allowed me to dive deep into low-level programming and computer architecture. This project, along with my work on a React Native multimedia application, highlights my ability to handle complex technical challenges and deliver high-quality results. Currently, I'm developing a CHIP-8 visualizer, an interactive tool that enhances understanding of the CHIP-8 emulator by visualizing memory interactions and display updates. I thrive on solving problems and learning new technologies. For instance, I'm actively participating in the ProtoHackers challenge, which is helping me refine my skills and stay current with industry trends. My unique combination of skills in both low-level and high-level programming, coupled with my determination and enthusiasm, makes me a valuable asset. I am committed to leveraging my abilities to contribute effectively to your team and help drive innovative solutions. If you’re looking for a developer who is not only technically proficient but also passionate about continuous learning and making a meaningful impact, I would be thrilled to bring my expertise and dedication to your company.

Full stack web developer, with a background of aircraft maintenance engineering

I am an extremely motivated individual, who has always been passionate about engineering. Hence, I found the courage to move by myself from Barcelona, Spain, to the UK in 2013, to seek further career development working at the upper end of the aviation industry. As a person always interested in IT, Tech news and PC hardware, I’ve developed a natural skill with computers. As an example, I was able to set up a Lan network for my office back in 2008 on Windows XP, with 7 computers in 4 different locations and 2 different office addresses. Good old XP! Therefore, in the last 2 years my focus on coding has become increasingly stronger, to the point that I decided to embark on a career change and attend a bootcamp at Le Wagon. During the course, I worked with a fantastic team of individuals, learning Ruby, JavaScript and Ruby on rails as an example, shipping to production 2 projects collaborating in a team of 4. This last project where I had the pleasure to collaborate on is Shrine. We found than grieving is hard, and in a technological world the we live in now days, people wants to get together to mourn our loved ones, but sometimes is hard to find a common place where share our memories. As part of our last project in my bootcamp at Le Wagon, we build Shrine from scratch and shipped to production using Ruby on Rails. On a collaborative team of 4 members, I learn the good practices of version control. Using a framework like Rails, I've learned how to use MVC architecture, by creating models, routes, controllers and views. Thanks a Rails ActiveRecords, we kept a solid N:N database on postgreSQL and I consolidated concepts of migrations, columns their values, defaults and validations. As soft skills, the importance of communication, getting together at the end of the day to discuss progress, pull request revisions, and planning the next goals and tickets.

Ruby on Rails | React - Full Stack Web Developer

High response rate

My name is Miguel and I am a pragmatic, keep it simple, Full Stack Ruby on Rails Web Developer. I have been working as a full time Rails developer for the past ≈4. I met Rails in the Le Wagon Web development bootcamp, and since then we stuck together. My motto, coding is the easy part. Nowadays, I consider myself a solid high level mid developer, on the verge of becoming a Senior developer. I have proven myself in all the places I have worked so far, always surpassing expectations. Lately I have come to realize that only having ≈4 years of experience hasn't been a problem, I have been able to overcome everything that's thrown my way, and mostly independently. In my current workplace, I naturally and unofficially became the team lead. Along with being very pragmatic, I am an extremely organized person. I believe these characteristics help me a lot in coding. The way my mind works results in clean, well organized code, which from my experience, it's usually the main problem, how the code base quickly grows into a monster (and not the cute ones). I have been engaged with Open Source, but lack of time is the main restriction to do more. In my CV you can see my contributions. I deeply believe in Open Source, and I think it is one of the reasons technology evolved so fast. One of the craziest things I did as a programmer was to take on a freelance project right after I finished the bootcamp. I had very little experience at the time, but I decided to take it on. What a challenge it was to build from the ground up a full on application, and then figuring out how to deploy it to AWS, and how to configure Nginx and SSL, all the details. That was an incredible experience, which allowed me to learn a lot of Ruby on Rails, and the whole process of building an application. It didn't go without a sweat, especially because I was doing this alongside my first full time job as a Rails developer, so I was coding day and night! Hope to talk to you soon,
