I am a quick learner with immense passion, I like to figure things out, build stuffs.

I started my Journey, when i was 18, in computer science with learning c & cpp, the very first subject i taught myself was data structures & algorithms. Since then I loved solving problems and getting interested in it, I was deep into low-level, making cli tools, modifying linux kernel modules, and i also tried to build a basic unix-like os inspired by xv6. Although, I learnt a lot in that year, but i wanted to do something that had real impact, something that provides business values. At that time, it was obvious that only Building WebApps would mean that. So, I started learning webdev from mdn docs, just the basics like html, css, and js. I made some tiny toy projects with it, I wasn't satisfied with them I wanted to do something bigger and more "real". I searched for the answers, and I was told frameworks/libraries like React -> next.js and Vue, with nodejs-express , and db like postgresql and mongodb are to be learned to make good webapps. I kinda felt I wish there was a simpler and faster way than this. So i looked again, and was met with ruby on rails. So I started learning Ruby, and I got it in halfday, the next step was to learn rails, so i went to search for some tutorials that'll explain me the how-to of building with rails, and it felt so intuitive that i went on with it. So simple and fast, although it was not easy to understand in the first time, but as soon as i started building It got easy for me to work with it. and I learnt it in 5 days with 5 projects. From my experience, i just wanted to demonstrate my quick learning skills and fast adapting ability and curiosity to figure things out as you go and solve problems asap. Although, I have not worked as Industry-Standard Dev, which is what i am seeking. In 1 week of involvement with Professionally developing webapps, working to solve business problems, I can just quickly adapt to what is expected of me.

Ruby on Rails Developer

Hi, I’m Rahul – a backend developer with a strong foundation in Ruby on Rails and a growing expertise in Node.js. I specialize in building and optimizing LMS platforms, working with complex domains like courses, learning paths, event sessions, assessments, and analytics. With a strong focus on performance optimization, I’ve worked closely with developers and CSM teams to solve real-world product challenges efficiently. Currently, I’m expanding my skill set by diving into Node.js and modern JavaScript tooling. I’ve worked with npm and global package management, and I’m actively exploring parallel processing and scalability solutions for high-performance applications. My passion for learning doesn’t stop there—I’m also deeply invested in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, constantly solving LeetCode problems to sharpen my problem-solving skills. Beyond web development, I’m interested in system design and have been working on a news aggregator project to improve my ability to architect scalable applications. Looking ahead, I’m exploring low-level programming languages to stay ahead in the ever-evolving tech landscape. I thrive on challenges, love optimizing systems for speed and efficiency, and am always eager to learn and grow. Whether it’s scaling backend systems, solving algorithmic problems, or transitioning into new technologies, I’m excited about building impactful solutions. Let’s connect and create something amazing!

Pragmatic communicator with attention to detail, rooted in best practices

Howdy 👋🏻 I've now been working in the industry for 10 years. I started my career in native iOS development, but now I've focused my attention to the backend. I've worked in Ruby on Rails for over 3 years now. I've implemented solutions to and worked with common backend tasks such as: API endpoints Background/async tasks Query optimizations Message queues Feature toggles APM CI/CD and more! A recent accomplishment is launching a significantly cross-cutting feature that fundamentally altered functionality of a 12-year-old Rails codebase. It launched with no downtime and no issues. I am passionate about code quality and the UNIX Philosophy. I care about simplicity and sensibility, preferring smaller, focused solutions over monolithic solutions. The best code is the least amount of code written that satisfies the requirement. It should be SOLID and DRY. It should cause minimal side-effects. I am an excellent communicator and have received praise for my ability to convey complex problems in an articulate and approachable manner to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders alike. I actually care about keeping documentation up-to-date and like investing research into tooling and processes that do that automatically so that it isn't so manual and painful. Working on a diverse team is really important to me. If we don't have a seat at the table for everyone, then what gets built only benefits a few lucky ones. Equity and accessibility is important. ✌🏻

Seasoned Ruby on Rails that focuses on building value for customers

Throughout my 15+ years of working as a software developer I sought out different work environments in order to get a feel for the entire software development industry. I started by working at a large consultancy. After learning the basics of working as a team and with clients I decided to take a shot a running my own consultancy. This is when I started Bitpop. During these years I learned about the many positives and negatives of running your own business but more importantly I learned how to really listen to customer needs. My next adventure took me to working at a pure product company (FiveStreet) where I was the first engineer hire and ended up being acquired by Realtor.com. This gave me a different POV on how to develop a product. Finally, I co-founded Cetus Labs and developed Octopi. I was the CTO for a mission critical application that helps the shipping industry track its cargo. We were acquired by Navis where I currently work at as a Director of Engineering. My current responsibilities include managing a team of 10+ remote developers and being one of the senior architects for the platform. I like to collaborate with other developers and discuss ideas before writing code. I believe that balance is the key to a successful product. I see software as a tool to solve problems and increase the bottom line. I believe that there is no perfect code base but we should strive to make it the best possible. I believe that keeping our team happy is as important as keeping customers happy. Other things I enjoy include running around and screaming with my daughter, creating music, astronomy, reading books, imagining stories and movies (if my daughter lets me watch something other than Monsters Inc.).
