I am a quick learner with immense passion, I like to figure things out, build stuffs.

New profile

I started my Journey, when i was 18, in computer science with learning c & cpp, the very first subject i taught myself was data structures & algorithms. Since then I loved solving problems and getting interested in it, I was deep into low-level, making cli tools, modifying linux kernel modules, and i also tried to build a basic unix-like os inspired by xv6. Although, I learnt a lot in that year, but i wanted to do something that had real impact, something that provides business values. At that time, it was obvious that only Building WebApps would mean that. So, I started learning webdev from mdn docs, just the basics like html, css, and js. I made some tiny toy projects with it, I wasn't satisfied with them I wanted to do something bigger and more "real". I searched for the answers, and I was told frameworks/libraries like React -> next.js and Vue, with nodejs-express , and db like postgresql and mongodb are to be learned to make good webapps. I kinda felt I wish there was a simpler and faster way than this. So i looked again, and was met with ruby on rails. So I started learning Ruby, and I got it in halfday, the next step was to learn rails, so i went to search for some tutorials that'll explain me the how-to of building with rails, and it felt so intuitive that i went on with it. So simple and fast, although it was not easy to understand in the first time, but as soon as i started building It got easy for me to work with it. and I learnt it in 5 days with 5 projects. From my experience, i just wanted to demonstrate my quick learning skills and fast adapting ability and curiosity to figure things out as you go and solve problems asap. Although, I have not worked as Industry-Standard Dev, which is what i am seeking. In 1 week of involvement with Professionally developing webapps, working to solve business problems, I can just quickly adapt to what is expected of me.

Looking only for contract work | 0-to-1 Development | Rails developer (12+ years) | Sidekiq | RabbitMQ | Hotwire, Stimulus and Turbo | CTO | 0-to-1 Apps

I’m a Rails developer with over 12 years of experience in software development, including 10+ years working hands-on with Ruby on Rails. Along the way, I’ve built all kinds of applications—automation tools, ERPs, inventory management systems, insurtech platforms, social media apps, and even AI-integrated solutions. I’ve always focused on creating large-scale, high-performance apps that can handle thousands of concurrent records without breaking a sweat. I’ve worked with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, making sure they’re set up for speed and scalability. On the backend, I’m well-versed in Sidekiq and RabbitMQ for background processing, and on the frontend, I use tools like Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus to make apps fast and interactive. When it comes to deployment, I’ve got plenty of experience with Google Cloud, AWS, and Fly.io, which lets me build infrastructure that’s as reliable as it is scalable. The recent apps I've developed have included AI integration with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs. At present, I'm also setting up an internal LLM for speeding up software development. What makes me stand out? I code fast. Really fast. I’m great at taking an idea from zero to a fully functioning app in just days, without cutting corners on quality. Having worked in Asia and Europe, I’ve learned how to adapt to different clients and challenges, which helps me deliver exactly what’s needed, every time. Recently, I co-founded my own software consulting firm, where I get to use my skills and experience to help businesses grow and succeed. Outside of coding, I’m passionate about dogs, I love solving crosswords, and I’m a bit of a political nerd. These hobbies keep my mind sharp and my creativity flowing, which is probably why I enjoy tackling complex coding challenges. I know Ruby and Rails inside out, and I thrive on turning big ideas into reality—quickly and efficiently. If you need someone who can hit the ground running and deliver results, I’m your developer.

Rails/React Developer

I am a web developer from India, working with Ruby on Rails, React, and Next.js, with a strong foundation in building scalable and user-friendly web applications. Before becoming a full-time developer, I was a teacher at a diploma school. My journey into web development began from scratch, and it wasn’t an easy transition. I started learning through The Odin Project, an open-source, project-oriented curriculum. It emphasized practical learning and warned against the pitfalls of “tutorial hell,” encouraging a hands-on approach from day one. Following this path, I adopted a “read-and-build” mindset: I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git, while building real-world projects to solidify my skills. Once I gained confidence with the fundamentals, I ventured framework with React, creating single-page applications that boosted my confidence. I started freelancing while actively seeking full-time roles, which led me to a position at a startup where my journey with Ruby on Rails began. At the startup, I developed likeness for Rails and its “convention over configuration” philosophy. I built RESTful APIs, implemented Active Record ORM, wrote unit tests using Minitest, and integrated these features with front-end user interfaces. I also had the privilege of building projects from scratch, including MVPs—a hands-on experience that sharpened both my technical and problem-solving skills. The only thing that mattered to me is being a better developer than I was the day before.

Senior Backend Engineer [11 YOE]

I relish the depth and creativity of software engineering and take pride in my contributions to software projects. I have over a decade of experience designing and implementing robust backends that power e-commerce applications serving millions of users and tens of thousands of businesses. In the future, I aim to specialize in engineering the distributed systems that undergird web applications, and I am working on growing my expertise in this area. My greatest wish is to work in an environment where continual learning and collaboration foster the creation of great software and cultivate my growth as an engineer. Building large and middle-sized backend systems written in Ruby is the most significant part of my experience to date. To a lesser extent, I have worked on the frontend with React, but I'm excited to do more of that in the future too. I construe the backend as the source of truth by how it conveys well-expressed concepts in the business domain and circumscribes well-behaved client applications. A lucid example of this from my work at Leafly was the real-time infrastructure that supported various features in our admin order dashboard. Software systems develop within constraints along social and technical axes. On the social axis, structured and proactive communication and documentation keep a system and its operators in alignment over its lifetime. On the technical axis, an iterative approach to development allows an organization to adapt to an environment of constrained resources and to accommodate ever more use cases and elaborations of the business. My biggest project at Leafly, an integration platform that communicated with many dozen external point-of-sale systems, perfectly speaks to this nature of developing and operating a mature, large-scale software system with a large group of sophisticated stakeholders. In particular, the highly modular data ingestion pipeline at the heart of that system was well-suited to meet this vision. A few themes concerning the environment at a company would excite me about the prospect of working there. First, I appreciate a focus on mentoring, collective learning, and striving for technical excellence. Teaching is an essential practice for an engineering team. Teaching junior engineers my thought process and philosophy while writing code and designing systems was one of the most fulfilling aspects of my past work. I also love thinking deeply about system architecture, participating in high-level planning discussions, and tackling technical sequencing challenges. This inclination was critical at Leafly, where I helped with efforts to migrate away from generations of legacy technology. Finally, my favorite thing is learning, and I appreciate an environment that encourages engineers to do so. I spend some time outside work now studying functional programming, category theory, and distributed systems. And I aspire to contribute to more open-source projects and pursue side projects.
