I'm Veteran Full-Stack Ruby on Rails Developer with ReactJS expertise. Proficient in Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus, JavaScript, AWS, Github, Heroku, and various other technologies. Skilled in self-management for independent projects and a collaborative team player. I have worked in different domains like healthcare, legal, security, construction, social media and others. I'm passionate about coding, especially in Ruby with the magic of Rails making things smooth sailing. I've built plenty of projects, and now I'm excited about combining Ruby on Rails with AI. I'm skilled with Git, RSpec, and handling databases. I also know my way around frontend tech like ReactJS and AngularJS, as well as integrating APIs. I've led small developer teams back home, using tools like GitHub, GitLab, Notion and Linear. I'm fluent in Gujarati, English, and Hindi, making communication a breeze. As a remote developer, I'm here to turn your ideas into reality. Whether it's working solo or coordinating a team, count me in to get the job done. I can provide a wide range of services that are designed to attract attention and cater to the most searched for needs. What Makes Me Different: What distinguishes me as an engineer is my unique journey through financial systems architecture combined with a relentless focus on observability and quality. While most developers build features, I build confidence - creating systems where you not only know when something breaks, but why it broke and how to fix it. My engineering approach was forged in the high-stakes environment of processing $100M+ daily financial transactions, where 99.999% uptime wasn't a goal but a requirement. This experience taught me that truly resilient systems aren't just well-architected; they're well-observed, well-tested, and well-documented. I've transformed chaotic codebases into comprehensible systems by establishing monitoring standards, comprehensive test suites, and clear documentation that empowers entire engineering teams. Where I truly excel is bridging the gap between complex technical implementations and business value. While many engineers can build impressive systems, I create sustainable architectures that solve real business problems. At a major top 4 US Financial corporation, I didn't just modernize a Rails platform; I enabled new financial products that directly increased revenue while reducing fraud by 35%. This business-focused mindset means I approach engineering challenges not just asking "how do we build this?" but "why are we building this and how will it create value?" My passion for mentorship has led me to develop a framework for growing junior engineers that has consistently helped them advance to senior roles in half the typical time. By creating structured growth plans combined with hands-on pairing sessions focused on system design principles, I've helped eight engineers dramatically accelerate their careers. I believe that building great engineers is as important as building great software - both are essential for long-term success. What truly sets me apart is my ability to transform complexity into clarity. Whether it's untangling a legacy codebase, explaining technical constraints to product teams, or documenting intricate system interactions, I excel at making the complicated understandable. This talent for simplification doesn't just make me a better engineer; it makes everyone around me more effective.

Empathetic Ruby Engineering Leader. Maker of things. Eater of cheeses.

A little about myself: I've been working commercially in software for just shy of two decades. The majority of that time I've been working as a full-stack Ruby/Rails Product Engineer, and involved in local community projects like RailsGirls and even organising a couple of Australian RubyConfs of my own. More recently I've found a passion for leading technology teams both at very large scales (at places like Qantas), and much smaller scales in my current role as Head of Engineering at an Australian RegTech startup - and everything in between. I'm a great solo operator, but love working in pairs, teams, or leading larger groups. I would consider myself a 'true' full-stack engineer: I love every part of the stack from CSS through to infrastructure, and have a passion for good visual design and building great user experiences What I'm looking for right now the is opportunity to have a lot of operational and tactical delivery impact. I would consider leadership roles for the right organisation, but would probably be better suited to a short term contract with a focus on output. What I'm looking for long term is a supportive, ambitious (but with realistic goals) company, full of great people trying to build something cool. I'd love the opportunity to have influence at a more strategic level within an organisation, alongside a supportive team. And if I'm being transparent I've struggled thus far to find the right 'fit' in this regard: either too little influence; or too much scope (and not enough support) in the role.
