描述

My journey into web development started in a pretty fun way. Back in Grade 8, my friends and I were super into role-playing games, but since I lived on the other side of the city, meeting up wasn’t always easy. So, I thought, why not play online? It was the year 2000, and the web wasn’t as advanced or accessible as it is now, but that didn’t stop me. Using pocket money, my best friend and I set up a bulletin board for RPGs—it was the first of this kind in Poland. From hosting phpBB boards to installing mods, I ended up learning the basics of web development and DevOps. I even started building a PHP-based web app for role-playing games, thanks to my IT teacher. It never got finished, but the whole experience got me hooked on creating things people can use and it still drives me to this day.

Fast forward to today, I’m still passionate about building useful and impactful tools. While I mostly work as a backend developer, I love the visual side of things, too. Making sure a UI looks good and feels intuitive has always been important to me. Over the years, I’ve developed a good sense for UX and enjoy bridging the gap between functional backends and great user experiences.

Recently, I’ve been proud of a couple of big projects. One was creating a modular CRM mass import feature that makes it easy to pull in data from different systems and lets users customize how it’s mapped using Liquid lang. The other was building a system that generates millions of personalized PKPass and Google Wallet passes daily, syncing them with CRM updates in real time. These projects were exciting because they combined my love of problem-solving with improving performance and scalability—and saved the company thousands of dollars in the process.

I also love working with tools like Hotwired, Turbo, and Stimulus. I’ve used them in projects like an ecommerce solution for the biggest pet accessories store in my country and a Basecamp-style project management tool. The way these tools let me create reactive interfaces with almost no JavaScript is just so satisfying. Even though i have experience with frameworks like Vue.js or React, i find it really fascinating to be able to build interfaces with minimal JS or no JS at all and i usually gravitate towards that direction in projects I maintain.

What makes me unique? I’d say it’s my mix of skills and experience. I enjoy tackling all sorts of challenges, whether it’s optimizing performance, refactoring old legacy code, or exploring new tools and ideas. I’m easy to work with, open to feedback, and always curious to try something new. After years of working across different layers of development, I’ve become pretty versatile and can jump in to help with almost any part of the stack.
