Description

I am a career-changer that has always found ways to use my coding skills to enhance my value. I am seeking to transition into software development full time.

As a career "pivot," I have a strong and reliable work history. I have been the director of a non-profit subsidiary, managed the development of a Salesforce platform for a program providing college education to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students (700+ students in six locations), launched a temporary supportive housing program for formerly incarcerated college students working towards completion of their degrees, and previously worked as a paralegal at law firms defending doctors and hospitals in healthcare litigation. All of this built upon a degree in business with a concentration in mathematics.

As a developer, I attended a coding boot camp focused on Ruby, Rails, and JavaScript. I have a portfolio of student projects to show for it, but most of my recent coding has focused around open source contributions to projects like Dry-rb and Hanami, including a major refactor of the Hanami Router library.

I am insatiably curious and love to learn. I am an excellent communicator, with experience writing documentation, delivering talks, and teaching seminars. I believe that learning, teaching, and collaboration are the three founts of productivity and innovation.

I would love to speak with you about how I can contribute to your project and team!
