I majored in mathematics at Penn State, where I worked on simulation and data modeling projects. I found myself drawn more to the coding side than the math itself, and after graduation I pivoted into software development with the goal of building tools that people actually use and rely on.

I now work at Alpha Omega Integration on a USCIS project where we’re digitizing the asylum and refugee process. I’ve led a refactor that made our Rails architecture form-agnostic, which prevented a costly split into multiple systems. I also migrated our test suite to Playwright, cutting runtime by over 75 percent and helping us ship with more confidence.

Rails has clicked for me because it encourages clean, readable code and rewards long-term thinking. I care about building systems that are easier to reason about, easier to maintain, and easier for others to step into. Whether through thoughtful refactors, clear conventions, or active collaboration, I try to make code better for everyone who works with it.
