Private informationDescription
👋🏻
When I first started working with Ruby in 2010, it felt so refreshing. Ruby felt like a language made specifically for me. I didn't even need docs. I could try a method and probably be right. Needless to say, I fell in love with Ruby.
I've worked with Ruby and Rails for 13 years now and I can't imagine working in a different language. I have a deep appreciation for Ruby and Rails. I have extensive experience working with ActiveRecord and ActiveModel, as well as experience doing front end work with React. I enjoy the building websites and trying to make the best code possible while also making the experience of using those applications feel great.
I'm also a strong advocate of Test Driven Development and have worked with RSpec and MiniTest in the past. Both are great tools and I like how TDD can quickly get me into a flow state.
Recently, I've been learning to use Hotwire and it feels like such a breath of fresh air for frontend development. It's nice to be able to focus on solving the customer problem instead of fighting the toolchain.
I'm open to roles where I can continue to grow my skills while I help teams build sustainable software in a pragmatic way. I believe the process of building software should be as enjoyable as the process of using software.
