Highly versatile Back End Developer with a background in client management and a fervor for learning, creative problem solving, and breaking down code to build it better.

Before my adventure at Turing began, I had never looked at a line of code in my life. Actually, for most of my life I wanted to be a doctor, having the opportunity to help people every day in a field of work that was constantly expanding and searching for improvement. However, when I got to my freshman year of college, I realized that I had no desire to apply a band-aid, much less perform surgery! Floundering, I threw out all my hooks, and what came back was The Turing School of Software and Design. Unsure at first if this industry was right for me, I completed Turing's "Try Coding" day where you get to write some very basic code ("Hello World!") and immediately I was hooked. I immediately fell in love with the way programming felt like solving a puzzle or a mystery, and how every problem I worked on was unique in its own special way. The more I learned about this industry, the more excited I became. Not only would I be in a field that is constantly expanding and providing me more to learn every day, but I also learned about how the software we write can lead to monumental improvements in the lives of people who truly need it! In just seven months at Turing my life was completely changed in all the best ways possible, I found a drive and passion for development that I never believed was possible. At times I have struggled and been pushed to learn and adapt at such a rapid pace that I wasn't sure I would be able to hang on, but with the skills I've learned and the joy I've found in software development, I know that I'll never look back!
