Descripción

I am a web developer from India, working with Ruby on Rails, React, and Next.js, with a strong foundation in building scalable and user-friendly web applications. Before becoming a full-time developer, I was a teacher at a diploma school.

My journey into web development began from scratch, and it wasn’t an easy transition. I started learning through The Odin Project, an open-source, project-oriented curriculum. It emphasized practical learning and warned against the pitfalls of “tutorial hell,” encouraging a hands-on approach from day one. Following this path, I adopted a “read-and-build” mindset: I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git, while building real-world projects to solidify my skills.

Once I gained confidence with the fundamentals, I ventured framework with React, creating single-page applications that boosted my confidence. I started freelancing while actively seeking full-time roles, which led me to a position at a startup where my journey with Ruby on Rails began.

At the startup, I developed likeness for Rails and its “convention over configuration” philosophy. I built RESTful APIs, implemented Active Record ORM, wrote unit tests using Minitest, and integrated these features with front-end user interfaces. I also had the privilege of building projects from scratch, including MVPs—a hands-on experience that sharpened both my technical and problem-solving skills.

The only thing that mattered to me is being a better developer than I was the day before.
