I'm a self-taught Rails developer and creator of Membership System Pro, a Ruby on Rails gym management software, designed for nimble businesses.

I initially built it as a labour of love for my partner’s fitness business. A Pilates studio owner had a positive experience with the software as a visitor to my partner’s studio. She reached out to me to implement it for her own business and soon became my second (and first paying!) client.

Selling services to a second client required me to draw on my broader business experience from my first career as a consultant. I communicated openly with the client to assess requirements and provided a formal contract to document specification, charges and delivery.

On the technical side, I particularly enjoyed implementing a bespoke solution for a tricky membership policy the client had, where certain members had priority booking rights over certain classes.

Membership System Pro will remain a side project that I am keen to improve and expand use of, however, now, I'm eager to join a small, passionate team working on something interesting—where I can contribute, learn, and grow alongside other developers.
