I've been a software engineer and leader for 18 years, with a focus on Ruby on Rails for the last 13. Over the last 5 years, my expertise has centered around mobile apps, with React Native or Swift frontend work, along with Rails API. In my side projects I'm developing my use of Hotwire and Hotwire-Native.

Since 2016, I've fluctuated between individual contributor and managing people and teams. I generally prefer Individual or player-coach roles, and am not pursuing pure hands-off management.

I see myself as the ultimate full-stack engineer. I'm comfortable working backend, web, mobile, as well as CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and devSecOps. Although I prefer Rails and React Native, I'm a polyglot and have recently worked in PHP Laravel, Java Swing, Django and FastApi in Python. I'm happy to work in these platforms, and I'll always advocate for the right tools for the job.
