Experienced & Empathetic Tech Lead • RuboCop Core Team Member

Programming professionally for 20 years. I've spent the last 4.5 years as Backend Lead at Pexels, and previously held lead roles at HYP3R and TalentNest. Primarily interested in backend Team Lead or Engineering Lead positions. Looking for a fully remote role. I am very passionate about software engineering, writing maintainable, testable and clean code that follows good architectural practices. I began as a self-taught programmer as a preteen, and worked as a freelance developer through high school and university. That led to a career in multiple industries (including construction, applicant tracking software, social media and currently stock photography), and a fast rise from individual contributor to tech lead and beyond. In order to give back to the Ruby community, I began heavily contributing to RuboCop (a Ruby linter with 300 million downloads that is a key piece of the toolset for most Ruby developers), culminating being invited to become a core team member at the beginning of 2021. I have held lead seniority roles for more than 12 years. As a manager, I see myself as a developer advocate, and spend a lot of time focusing on the happiness and productivity of my staff. Currently I am the Backend Lead at Pexels. In this capacity at a small company, I have a wide variety of responsibilities, including: Architect, plan, implement, test and ship large complex features and build out process Help non-engineers plan, scope and estimate their projects and participate in organization-wide product planning Triage and respond to security issues in code and infrastructure, including running a bug bounty program Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers of all levels. Procure and negotiate with vendors, including saving the company tens of thousands of dollars in hosting costs Looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm a indepandant consultant with 10 years of experience. While I performed many functions throughout the years, I always kept contact with RoR. I'm a full stack developer, so I know the backend as well as the frontend. I'm also able to write the RSpecs tests, design Gitlab's pipeline and deploy the application using Kubernetes. From the conception to the delivery, I am able to take a full project through it's entire life circle. I worked in the domains of finance, marketing, ecommerce, internet of things and transport. I'm working so that the technology answer business needs and not to perform any techno fantasy. It is important to answer quickly to the corporate initiatives while planning futur options.

Hi, my name is Titus, I am an ambitious full-stack software engineer who leverages Rails, Javascript, React, and Redux to craft solutions for real-world problems. I am a lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for clean code and test-driven development as well as behaviour-driven development approaches. I’m a software development alumni at Microverse, a remote software development school that uses pair programming and project building to teach web development

As a full-stack software development student at Microverse, a full-time and immersive developer Bootcamp, I have in the past year immersed myself into continuous learning by collaborating with students from diverse backgrounds to design, develop, debug, spec, host and maintain big and small Ruby(Rails) and Javascript(React) projects that ensured we grasp the necessary skills. Having no advantage of a technical background, I had to take initiative to teach myself cutting-edge technologies and train my mind to solve problems by immersing myself in hours of data structures and algorithms. In my second module, the school had already identified my passion to impart knowledge to others and thus I was approached to be a student mentor and assigned the role of a part-time technical support engineer due to my great progress in both professional and technical curriculum and the high-quality code reviews I gave to my peers. I developed skills in remote pair-programming using GitHub, industry-standard git-flow, and daily standups to communicate and collaborate with international remote developers. I mentored junior students by providing technical support through code reviews, proposed improvements to code organization to improve code quality and overall performance. I also provided advice and tips on how to maintain motivation and longevity in the program.
