Senior dev specialising in clean, maintainable code and keeping tech debt low

I'm a full-stack Rails developer (although recent projects have concentrated on API-only backends with ReactJS front ends managed by different teams). I've been working with Rails for over 10 years (since version 3.x) and have specialised in making code bases that are easy for teams to read, understand and maintain. Key to those goals are: using standardised code styles (ensuring RuboCop and the team's practices are perfectly aligned) writing well-structured, easy-to-understand and fast tests constructive and collaborative code reviews ensuring documentation, from git histories to READMEs and other materials (online and offline) records useful, meaningful information that can be easily kept up to date and in sync with any code changes I've recently been adding GraphQL to my skill set, which also includes PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Redis and other languages (Swift, PHP, JavaScript, and more). On the front end, I have experience both with Rails' native toolset and with ReactJS, Next.js and React Native. I also have experience of platform-native toolsets such as SwiftUI to deliver applications that feel intrinsically like part of the user’s mobile experience. I've worked on projects of various sizes, from scheduling and booking software for a major tech training company to systems allowing TV distributors to sell thousands of hours of programming all over the world. Ideally, I'm looking to work on products with which I can feel personally invested – an exciting product or tech-for-good project would definitely suit me better than a fintech role.

Full-stack developer eager to contribute in a commercial setting.

I am a dynamic and determined full-stack developer who embarked on a transformative journey to pursue my passion for technology. Formerly a tax advisor trainee, I took a bold leap to enrol in the intensive Le Wagon full-time 2-month web development bootcamp. This pivotal decision allowed me to transition into the world of web development and unleashed my creativity and problem-solving skills. My fascination with technology extends beyond coding. I possess hands-on experience in planning and building high-end desktop computers, showcasing my comprehensive understanding of both hardware and software aspects. This technical foundation has proved invaluable in my journey towards becoming a well-rounded full-stack developer. Throughout the bootcamp, I actively participated in the development of multiple web applications, collaborating within a team environment. Using Ruby on Rails, I engaged in every stage of the development process, from conceptualization to deployment. My proficiency spans both front-end and back-end development. On the front end, I enjoy crafting user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and Ajax. Meanwhile, on the back end, I use Ruby to implement CRUD operations and search functionality, ensuring seamless user experiences. I am eager to bring my skills and passion for development to a promising team, contributing to impactful projects and furthering my knowledge. Currently, I am expanding my skill set by delving into React.js, aiming to enhance my capabilities and stay at the forefront of web development trends. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to innovative projects and gaining valuable commercial experience with a forward-thinking team.

Ruby on Rails Full-stack web developer

Hello, I'm 30 years old. I'm living in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil with my mother. I have a degree in Civil Engineering. During the course, I did an Engineering internship where I piloted the company's drone. Then, I had the opportunity to go on an exchange program in the United States for 6 months to improve my English. Arriving back in Brazil, I moved to another state to work as a planning analyst. At the beginning of last year, I decided that I wanted to change my life, so I took a Web Development full stack course in Ruby on Rails at Le Wagon. During the course, I learned several tools such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL and Ruby on Rails, but I also learned how to work in a group, dividing tasks and, mainly, asking questions when necessary. It was an intense course in which I pushed my limits to overcome the Programming barriers. At the end of the course, I was invited by the manager to be part of Le Wagon's Ruby on Rails teaching team. I was very excited about this opportunity, as I was the only student to have this privilege. I started working as a teacher in the following month, giving some classes, helping students with their questions regarding the challenges, and at the end, supporting the students' final projects, which is to develop a complete website in Rails. 5 months later, I joined the team of teachers at Le Wagon Amsterdam. It was a unique experience working with people from different cultures and different accents, but, in the end, I was highly praised by everyone. Today I am looking for a job within a company where I can grow not only professionally, but also personally, a place that challenges me with new projects that will make me leave my comfort zone, because right now, as a teacher, I am reviewing a lot of concepts. I want to really explore the entire realm of Programming. I hope I can talk a little more about myself soon. Thank you so much.
