1100+ Ruby on Rails developers looking for their next gig. Juniors to seniors and everyone in between, you'll find them all here.
25+ years experience, 15+ full-stack, 5+ Rails
Lead Software Engineer and Mentor with 15+ years of Rails Experience
Hey there, I'm Michael! I've had titles such as CTO, VP of Engineering, and Lead Senior Engineer before. I have contributed about a dozen PRs too Rails and many more PRs to other gems in the Ruby and Rails ecosystem. Currently, I'm working a contract role as a Lead Software Engineer for a "big-tech" company as well as advising a few startups. I am open to new full-time and part-time opportunities so feel free to message me! I have experience with everything from software architecture, security engineering, database design, query optimization, and Rails performance improvements, as well as plenty of front-end development with everything from jQuery to React to now Turbo and Stimulus. In fact, despite my experience throughout the backend, I find front-end and ultimately "full-stack" product development to be the most fulfilling! Don't hesitate to reach out to see how we might work together.
Senior Fullstack Ruby On Rails Developer • Product Manager SaaS (Legaltech / Fintech / Proptech)
Hi, I am a pragmatic, full-stack Ruby On Rails developer on web / SaaS / Marketplace projects with an interest in product management and delivery. I have been working with Rails since 2010 mainly as dev and CTO for startups in legal/finance/real estate/investment and professional coaching and lead team from 1 to 10 peoples including product roles. Would love to work on these domains again or some new one (industry maybe) as individual contributor, lead or with some PM. Happy to discuss your opportunities
🇨🇦 Back-end developer and data engineer
👉 I am a back-end Rails developer and data engineer. I make Rails app faster, easier to work on, and more reliable. I focus on the fundamentals: improving database performance using Postgresql, moving work to a background job processor like Sidekiq for managing asynchronous tasks within the Rails application, and finally, caching to optimize overall performance. As a production engineer, monitoring and observability are critical to my work. I use tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana/Prometheus to maintain a real-time view of system health. As a data engineer, I rely on Postgresql, the Kiba gem, and the python data-stack to get work done quickly and efficiently. My approach is incremental, prioritizing thoughtful and measured steps, empathetic to the needs and concerns of both the team and customers, and mindful of budget constraints and overall project goals.
Fractional CTO, Principal Engineer
'sup pitches. I'm a software engineer with a passion for code that's been burning strong since 2012. I started my journey with PHP and Codeigniter, and to be honest, those early days were a bit of a rollercoaster. But they were a great learning experience, and that's what counts, right? I eventually found my groove with Ruby on Rails, and it's been an exhilarating ride ever since. All aboard! 🚂 If you're into tech lingo and acronyms, we might share some common ground. Let me drop a few: AWS, RDS, VPC, EC2, OpenSearch, S3, Memcache, JS, PWA, ASL PLS. Yep, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Lately, I've been diving into exciting new technologies like Hotwire, Python, Ionic, React, Angular, and Websockets. Staying up-to-date is crucial, right? But life isn't just about coding. I also wear a few other hats! I'm a proud father to two wonderful daughters and a devoted pet parent to three adorable dogs – woof! And let's not forget those mischievous ponies of mine. They're cute, but they can be a handful at times! When I'm not immersed in code or looking after my family and four-legged friends, you'll find me unwinding and cherishing moments with the people I hold dear. It's all about the simple joys in life, you know? It's Tuesday my dudes!
Rails engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience
Rails Developer with PM background
5+ years of Rails experience, with a total of 12 years building software. Most of my career I've been working remotely as a freelancer. This has allowed me to work with a diverse set of businesses from different corners of the world. While the projects I take on differ vastly, they all something in common: the tech team is always very small (1-5 members) and the roles are never specialized. Does this mean I exclusively work with early stage startups and tech-enabled small businesses? Yes, that's exactly what it means, because that's the setup where I can bring the most to the table. For me, having to wear multiple hats is an embraced necessity, not an unfortunate turn of events. What makes me a good hire for upstarts like that? Besides having years of experience working in that environment, I have launched and successfully failed a couple of my own projects. So I know at least a few things that definitely do not work. Let's skip the 1st interview: Roles interested? Team lead, CTO, do-it-all, plain old dev Salary expectations? High but flexible to a degree Ready to move? Need for visa sponsorship? No and no - I am only considering remote positions at this time Actively use Hotwire? Yes Enjoy writing tests? Yes. Have used both, I like the simplicity of Minitest better Enjoy writing JS? No, but I'm fairly okay with writing Stimulus controllers Any good with HTML/CSS? Quite good, although haven't written much CSS for the past couple years - a heavy Tailwind CSS user here

Do you want somebody ethical and hard-working, you can rely on day and night to help you with your project? Then look no further. Hi. My name is Dusan. Believe it or not, I started using Rails when it was at version 1.2. It's been more than 15 years me doing professional Rails development every single day. Since then, I have helped teams and companies successfully run and deliver dozen of different Rails projects. In my spare time I develop, maintain and run https://gemfilecheck.com/. Gemfilecheck is a service for Ruby devs, to help them scan their codebases for common issues and security vulnerabilities in project dependencies. I love Ruby's philosophy and Rail's Way of doing things. I want my code to be minimal, simple, and without any additions, which will not be needed down the road. By doing so I can help you build easy-to-understand, maintainable, and reliable code which will serve you and your business for years to come. I can do any of the following for you: Fix your bugs or write some tests Build you a prototype or an MVP in less than 4 weeks Maintain or upgrade your legacy or existing Rails project Evaluate your existing codebase for quality or security issues Integrate Stripe or other payment system Coach you or mentor your team members and teach you how to program Or perform many other tasks...Just let me know about your project
